Bit Films is, in part, an attempt to bridge the gap between academia and industry. Founder Chris Perry is a long-time participant in both worlds, as an Associate Professor of Media Arts and Sciences at Hampshire College and a former Technical Director and Programmer with Pixar Animation Studios and Rhythm & Hues Studios in California.
Since its birth in 2002, Bit Films has specialized in producing animated short films and nurturing young talent in a creative, collaborative environment. Every fall, summer, and spring we offer a competitive internship program for exceptional students and recent grads. Our alumni have succeeded independently as well as at world-renowned studios including Pixar, DreamWorks, Rhythm & Hues, Weta Digital, Sony Imageworks, Moving Picture Company, and Digital Domain.
